"Miss Tropical Tanlines 2004" Michelle Lenapua'okalani

Michelle is currently a full time College student pursuing a career in Nursing. Michelle enjoys many different Community Service activities. She assists with her Church's Summer Bible School program. Michelle  participates in fundraising events through her Hula group,  assisting other organizations such as Walmart's participating in the Children's Miricle Network, the Second Harvest Food Bank and the Charlie Wedemeyer Foundation.

Hula and Tahitian Dancing

Michelle has been competing and dancing for the past 6 years for Kawailehua Hula Ohana. Her annual competions in the Merced Tahiti Fete and the San Jose Tahiti Fete has placed her in the final solo competitions and winning 1st place in the 2003 Kiki Raina Tahiti Fete. Michelle has also danced in the Tane 'et Vahine Tahiti San Jose competitions for the San Jose Tahiti Fete. Her groups participation in the 2003 Hura Ava Tau earned them 3rd place in the group competition, 2nd place in the Ahoura and 2nd place in the musician categories.

Hobbies

Along with Michelle's dancing, she enjoys working with her group in mentoring new students in the art of Tahitian Dancing.She also enjoys assisting in costume designs and working with her Kumu in choreographing routines. Michelle and her mother also design fantastic Tahitian headdresses and beautiful ribbon Leis.
